Lark Nationals rescheduled and FREE!

Nigel Hufton - 17th September 2020

There's no such thing as a free lunch - but there’s such a thing as a free* National Championships for Lark members!
The Lark Nationals 2020 has been rescheduled for 17th/18th October, run by Royal Western YC in Plymouth under RYA Covid 19 guidance.

NB We are monitoring guidance from the RYA, but we understand that sporting events are unaffected

Due to minimal expenditure this year, LCOA will cover the cost of members' entries! So the whole event will be free* to members who enter by 12 October* (non-members need only join up to benefit)! That's....
Free entry
Free boat parking by the club
Free car parking on-site
Free burger after sailing on Saturday
Plus, campervan parking onsite for only £8.00 per day.
It will be run as part of the Final Fling and sponsored by Allspars, but on a separate course shared only with Scorpions. It promises:

Great racing
Saturday: 3 races back-to-back (start not before noon): 2 x triangle/sausage, then a race around the breakwater to finish at club line.
Sunday: 3 x triangle/sausage races back-to-back.
NB Rescue cover will be available for those practising on Friday - just notify the club before launching.
Great social (subject to Covid 19 rules)

Social as allowed (e.g. small groups/take-away) on Saturday night (tbc)
Trophy prize-giving asap on Sunday.

Staggered launching between fleets. Help with launching/recovery.
