Frensham Five 2010 - Races 3 & 4

Nigel Hufton - 07th February 2010

The Frensham Five series continued on Sunday 7th with Races 3 and 4. After waiting 30 minutes for the wind to get going, the fleet enjoyed a gentle breeze at the start of race 3. Chris and Ed got to the first weather mark a good first and stretched the lead out to a leg, only to be closed by Eluned and Millie who were only three boat-lengths behind at the finish. Phil and Lynda were a good third.

3rd Phil and Lynda
4th Chris Holliman and Kate

The wind was averaging a force 2 for the start of race 4 and had veered a little to NNE, a good direction at Frensham. Again using the blue line, which is further from the clubhouse, only Phil and Lynda were on time for the start. As Eluned said after the finish 'if I could get to the start on time I would stand a chance', that is so true as she and Millie closed on everyone towards the finish, another lap and... Chris Ellis and Ed again led the race from the first mark with Chris Whitehouse and Ellie on his transom for the first round. Chris then pulled away a few yards leaving the rest of the fleet eventually finish within yards of each other.
