The Pilgrimage to Rock

John Crooks - 28th April 2008

Ladies and Gents,

Just a quick reminder that this weekend The Larks descend on the small picturesque village of Rock for what can only be described as one of the biggest weekends on the Lark calendar. Three days of racing out in Polzeath Bay and in the Camel Estuary, one of the most scenic spots in the UK.

For those of you wanting to practice your gate starts then this is an event not to miss as there will be a few over the course of the weekend.

Along with 3 days of racing comes three nights of partying, with a formal sit down meal on the Saturday, and BYO BBQ on the Sunday evening, followed by some classic Cornish entertainment!

With the race programme as it is there is usually ample time to make the most of the miles of sandy beach, a trip to Padstow or for those energetic amongst us, to go and make the most of the surf.

So no excuses, the wind is looking great with a nice 4-3-2 forecast, the bar is stocked with plenty of Doom Bar, and some green things that occasionally appear, and it is usually the first weekend of the year to break out the shorts and expose those wintery legs to the sun!

Looking forward to seeing you all down there, (first race Saturday @ 13:00)

To top it all we will have a professional photographer out on the course on Saturday taking some great shots for class marketing purposes. Could this be your opportunity to have a great framed print in your living room!

P.S. there are still some beds free in various houses so a lack of a bed is no excuse..
