Final Frensham Five Report

Chris Ellis - 19th March 2007

Race 9
Any of the leading four could have still won the Frensham Frenzy on the last day. The wind was gusting 4/5 with some stronger knock down puffs. Phil and Lynda capsized on the start line; with Nigel and Chris rounding the weather mark in quick succession. However, today was about keeping upright as Nigel and Jane discovered a number of spectacular times. Chris and Becky pulled away to lead by a couple of legs until it was their turn to swim; which meant Emma and Nicky and Jon and Andrew caught up. All three were neck and neck for the rest of the race with Emma taking the gun and Chris beating Jon on the line.

Race 10
Now down to three that could still win the Frensham Five, however keeping upright was still going to be the decider. Emma and Nicky got away with Jon, Nigel and Chris in hot pursuit. Nigel again found the biggest puff and Chris and Becky just crept ahead of Jon and Andrew, who then swapped places. All eventually had a knock down. Jon and Andrew went onto to win with Emma second and Nigel and Jane third.

The Frensham Five was therefore won by Jon and Toby/Andrew with Emma and Nicky second and Chris and Becky third, in a close run event. All agreed that it had been a good competition with 14 taking part. Thank you all.

1st Jon Fish and Toby Lewis/Andrew Bridge 6pts
2nd Emma Harris and Nicky Curwen 7 pts
3rd Chris Ellis and Becky Hopwood 9 pts
