Waldringfield Cartoon Open Meeting

Harry Pynn - 07th September 2006

For those not doing the 24 hour race the Cartoon trophy at Waldringfield will be held on the 9th and 10th of September. With a good turnout of local boats the racing promises to be as exciting as ever. If you win you get to look after one of Giles' famous cartoon, but competition is tough as you'll have to beat the national champion!

Start times are 12 o' clock on Saturday and 11 o' clock on Sunday with 2 races each day. Entry fee is 30 (20 for juniors) and includes 2 meal tickets with a social in the club on Saturday night. Camping is available in the car park or one of the locals will put you up.

Don't forget to bring your Spring copy of lark news with you as it has all the tips on sailing at Waldringfield. For those visitors used to leaving their boats on the beach, please be aware that the tides will be very high this weekend so you are advised to put your boat in the car park on Saturday night.
