Club Info

The reservoir is situated in beautiful countryside between the low-lying hills of the Amber Valley and has an area of 220 acres of open water.

The club facilities consist of extensive grounds with a waterside dinghy park and ample car parking. There is a spacious club house with hot showers and changing rooms and a new boat shed. We have a bar with a steward, wet and dry lounges, a large club room and separate games room, kitchen, and B.B.Q. facilities outside. Recent additions to our facilities are changing and toilet amenities for disabled sailors, a new boat/storage/training facility and an improved race management hut.

We have an extensive racing program, with racing on most weekends of the year and on Wednesday nights during the summer.

Directions to Club

From M1

Leave at Junction 28 and follow the A38 south-westwards towards Alfreton and Derby. Take the third exit and follow the A61 into Alfreton. Go straight through the traffic lights and carry on for 4 miles. Turn left by the pub, direction Tansley. After 3/4 mile, bear left staying on the B6014, still signposted Tansley. After a further mile (having passed the reservoir and The New Napoleon pub) turn left signposted Woolley & Brackenfield. The entrance to the club is on the left just after a sharp left-hand bend.

From Matlock

From Matlock town centre take the A615 signposted Tansley. After passing Tansley Garden Centre turn left onto the B6014. Follow this road to a long descent into the Amber Valley. Take a minor road on the right, signposted Woolley & Brackenfield. (If you reach the New Napoleon pub on the left you have gone too far - retrace your route and take the first turning on your left.) The entrance to the club is on the left just after a sharp left-hand bend.
