A May bank holiday weekend at Rock Sailing and Waterski Club has been part of Lark sailing since the last time the nation was gripped by the terms minority government and hung parliament. 2015 is no exception and this year the event is also round 2 of the prestigious Helly Hansen Great 8.
Teetering on a quay in the Camel estuary, the club house provides the perfect venue for Lark sailors to mingle with the Royal Family (or at least pictures of the Royal Family). On the sailing side, there are options of tactical estuary racing "in the harbour", or full on sea sailing outside the ominous Doom Bar depending on wind, sea state and tide times.
Luckily for the Larks, the most dangerous part of the Doom Bar is the namesake ale. The weather is always amazing, the club is very friendly, the village is small and compact and the race times just add some variety.
Dates: Sat 2nd May to Mon 4th May.
Saturday 12.00 briefing, 13.00 start.
2 races a day for 3 days with gate starts.
Sharing with the fireballs which should make for a decent separation between the starts.
