Royal Plymouth Corinthian Open Preview

Daniel Watson - 26th September 2011

The Royal Plymouth Corinthian Yacht Club hosts the next instalment in the 2011 Belle Isle Traveller series, THIS WEEKEND (1st/2nd October).
This will be the perfect (and only) chance to scope out the race track in preparation, for the 2012 National Championships, so the competition will be keen.

Now, we were expecting M.J. to seize the opportunity of a Plymouth Open meeting preview to regale you all of the time he sailed beneath the mooring warp of battleship to claim a ‘famous’ victory at some dim and distant student nationals... But instead he has decided he has better things to do (a beautiful blonde, he claims) so you’ll have to make do with our slightly less ‘imaginative’ prelude.

Over the weekend of 1st/2nd October the Larks will be heading down Royal Plymouth Corinthian Yacht Club for the next event of the Belle Isle Series 2011. The club are scheduling 6 races out beyond the breakwater (weather permitting), starting at 13:00 on Saturday and 10:00 on Sunday and it's only £20 entry!! Check out further information and the SIs here!.
On Saturday evening a few members of the fleet will be on a reconnaissance mission to check the local establishments in preparation for next year's champs. You can be part of this elite team by signing up on the day.

Having hosted the AC45s last week, its chance for Plymouth to really see what tight, high adrenaline, breakneck racing is really all about when the Larks come to town!
