2009 Inland Championships - 5/6 September

The Larks are heading north again for the 2009 Inland Championships at Carsington Water. Carsington is located near Ashbourne just south of the Peak District, so it's ideal for anyone who made the trip to last year's successful National Championships at Bridlington, or indeed for anyone that missed out!

On the social front a Pie and Pint supper is being served at the clubhouse on Saturday evening. The pies are legendary and tempting favours on offer are: Moo, Minty Lamb, Chicken of Aragon, Cheddar Gorgeous and Wildshroom.
And, of course, no Lark Championships would be complete without a full-on disco and a well-stocked bar, which will be open for the entire evening.

The sailing promises tight racing throughout the fleets.
Gold, Silver and Bronze prizes are all ready to be fought for, and if you’ve not been to a open meeting before then there are special ‘First Timers’ prizes up for grabs.

First race on Saturday is at 1pm with 3 races back-to-back and Sunday has 2 races with a 10:30am start.

By far the easiest way to stay in the local area is by camping at the local pub, called the Knockerdown Pub, which is only a short stagger from the clubhouse. The pub has been warned of our arrival and there are at least 15 pitches have been reserved for the Larks. But you must call them on 01629 540209, mentioning you’re a Lark, in order to guarantee a pitch. It’s a bargain of £9 a night for a 2-man tent. There are also alternative B&B’s and campsites in the local area. Another suggestion is Derbyshire Holiday Cottages who are directly opposite the entrance to Carsington and are doing a Friday and Saturday night booking deal for that weekend.
