Medway YC Open Meeting & Try-a-Lark Preview

Simon Cox - 01st August 2007

Well you've only just recovered from the nationals and the next open meeting is upon us!

For the first time The Larks visit Medway Yacht Club near Rochester, Kent on the weekend of 18/19 August. Sailing takes place on the River Medway which provides ideal conditions for the Lark.

There are a number of people interested in the Lark at Medway YC. The Lark fits nicely between their existing youth and Wayfarer fleets. To demonstrate why the Lark is such a perfect fit for the club we are offering a Try-a-Lark session after racing on the Saturday (approx 4pm). This will be a great opportunity for club members to come along and take a Lark for a spin. Alternatively, if you've been sailing around in a Baker or Parker Lark perhaps you'd like to find out what all the Rondar fuss is about!

The format for the weekend will be 2 races on the Saturday and 3 races on Sunday. The race briefing will be at 11am on Saturday with the first race at 12pm.

The club offers very good catering facilities and a well stocked bar. Camping is available at the club. A disco and Bar-BQ is being laid on in the evening.

We look forward to seeing you all there for what will be one of the best events of the year.

Please contact Alison Dart (Lark 2442) on 07870 185008 or to let us know if you are coming and/or would be prepared to let someone test sail your boat.
