Winter Championships & Laying Down Supper Details
It's that time of year again where we dust off the DJ, purchase new frocks and break our ankles in ridiculous high heels. Yes! Itís the Lark class winter champs & laying down supper.
For those of you that have not been before, it is an experience not to be missed!
The general itinerary for the weekend is...
Wwe are expecting a big turn out again with close to 50 boats, so thereís going to be a lot of competition out on the water.
After a swift half in the club analysing the days racing, it's off to the hotel to spruce yourselves up for the laying down supper. There are plenty of B&Bís around but you wonít find anything closer than Sedgebrook Hall.
There is usually plenty of time to relax those aching legs before changing. Why not make use of the Sedgebrook Hall facilities - spa pool, sauna & indoor pool.
The Black Tie dinner kicks off at 7pm at the club where there will be fine food, fine wine, fine tunes, and fine company.
There will be a 3-course meal followed by the Annual Prize Giving and the End of Year Duckhams award! In true Lark Class tradition there will be a live band to get everyone on the dance floor through to the early hours.
Transport will be arranged between Sedgebrook Hall and the Sailing Club (both ways). After last year we would suggest that a few cars are taken to the club so that everyone can get there in time for dinner.
For those still capable the racing continues on Sunday (unlike some girlie classes!) to round up the event. Details of the racing will be posted shortly.
Once again you can purchase your dinner tickets online. Full details can be found by following the link below. Details of how to book your accommodation can also be found on this link.
Finally, in answer to the most popular question, "is it strict black tie?". Get as close to black tie as you can, what we donít want is people not coming because they donít have a DJ or Tux for those Yankees amongst us.
See you all there...
