Day 4 of the Lark Nationals started with many fuzzy heads after the crews union & board of directors meeting. The strong winds that blew from the South East during the night started to ease as the fleet launched, which left a large swell and relatively light winds.
In race 6 the boats that started at the pin end led round the windward mark with Steve Cumley & Eluned Jones leading from Sarah Richards and Nigel Wakefield. Steve and Eluned extended there lead throughout the race and finished ahead of Sarah & Nigel in second and Nigel Hufton & Chris Whitehouse in 3rd. After the race Sarah found out that she had been black flagged which promoted Nigel to second and Richard & Jenny Bennett to third.
The 7th race was sailed in similar conditions. Jon Fish & Toby Lewis started towards the port end and came in with a good lead at the first mark. They held this lead to the finish, with Sarah & Nigel taking second from Howie Enkel & Mickie Wright in third.
The silver fleet has picked up momentum with Nick Marlow taking a 7th place in Race 6. The bronze fleet is led by Katharine Sampson & Alison Dart.
