The Bronze Fleet turned up to a windy BCYC with most deciding that discretion was the better part of valour and stayed ashore for the first race. Those that did go out came in after fighting with the conditions and taking in a few capsizes on the way. Race two got under way later in the day after a long postponement to allow the wind to drop a few knots.
Rob & Ruth Marlow finished a very well deserved 15th overall to claim the Gill sponsored Bronze Fleet Inland Championship victory, after putting in 5 consistent results in breezy and testing conditions.
Local helm Garry Packer crewed by Nigel Denchfield showed the other Bronze Fleet boats the way around the reservoir and came in second in 20th position overall. John Crooks & Flipper King were bumped down into 3rd by Garry & Nigel over the two days, but showed the rest of the Bronze fleet a clean transom to finish in 23rd overall.
Will & Dave Croxford battled it out with Stuart & Julia Allen, Katharine Sampson & Ally Dart and Fiona Gray & Sara Olliff for the remaining positions, with Will & Dave coming out on top of the bunch.
Thanks to BCYC for a great event and to the wind gods for allowing us to get some great racing in.
