24 Hour Race 2005

Simon Cox - 14th August 2005

As usual the Lark Class will be represented at the West Lancs 24 Hour Race on 17th/18th September 2005. The Lark Class is intending on entering a number of LCOA Teams as in previous years. In addition we are expecting a number of club and university teams to take part.

It would be great to see Lark Teams from established Lark Clubs especially Frensham Pond, Waldringfield, South Staffs, West Kirby and Northampton. In addition we are expecting Lancaster, Portsmouth and Manchester uni's to enter Lark teams again. Clubs can enter more than one team so there is no excuse not to sail a Lark!

All you need to do is find a boat (possibly buy a cheap old one?) and between 8-12 sailing team members plus a shore manager (or two).

Don't be afraid to use a good boat! The last few years the LCOA A team has used 2462, 2489 and this year we will be using Steve Cumley's 2496 (2nd at the 2005 nationals).

If you are intending on entering a team or would like to know more about the event then please contact me by email 24hourrace@larkclass.org or 07769 700462.
